About

Authentic News Journal is an independent-minded publication about reading news with care. It is for curious readers who want to understand how reporting is assembled, presented and passed along, without being told which conclusions to adopt.

What we examine

We look at attribution, evidence, headlines, images, newsroom roles and the routes stories take between publication and reader. The aim is to make the construction of news more legible, not to turn every article into a verdict on a particular outlet or event.

How we explain

We define terms before using them, separate what a report states from what it demonstrates, and make uncertainty visible. Our subjects are chosen for lasting usefulness, so readers can apply the ideas across different stories and formats.

Who it is for

The publication is for readers who want to pause over a claim, follow its trail and notice the context around it. No specialist background is assumed; careful reading and a willingness to ask what is missing are enough.
