Editorial policy
Authentic News Journal aims to explain news-making and news-reading with precision, restraint and visible limits. We distinguish explanation from advocacy and do not present a source's assertion as independently established fact.
Accuracy and attribution
We check factual statements against appropriate, identifiable material and attribute claims to the people or records that make them. When a point is disputed or uncertain, we say so in plain language. We do not imply that a source, quote or document proves more than it actually supports.
Independence and corrections
Editorial decisions are made for reader value and clarity. Commercial relationships do not determine our conclusions. If a material error is identified, we review it and correct the article with an appropriate explanation; readers can send correction requests through the Contact page.
Partner material
Paid placements, sponsored material and other partner contributions are clearly labelled so readers can distinguish them from editorial work. A partnership does not guarantee favourable coverage or editorial approval.
Illustrations
Some illustrations may be AI-generated. Where that applies, the illustration is identified as such; it is not presented as documentary evidence or as a photograph of a real event.
