Authentic News Journal welcomes pitches that help readers understand how news is sourced, framed, checked, produced or circulated. Propose a focused question with a clear explanation, not a hot take or a summary of a single headline.

What makes a strong pitch

Tell us the reader question, the central idea and why it remains useful beyond one news cycle. Explain the terms or distinctions the piece would clarify, and identify the material you would use to support factual claims. A strong proposal has a defined scope and does not promise certainty where the evidence has limits.

Suitable contributions

We consider clear explainers, comparisons of formats or methods, carefully scoped histories and reader-focused examinations of common assumptions about news. Please avoid unsupported allegations, promotional copy disguised as editorial work and pieces that require readers to accept a political position.

How to propose

Send a concise pitch through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include a working title, a short outline and relevant experience or published examples if you wish; no particular credential is required. Do not send confidential material or personal information about third parties.
